I was listening to the album Droom by Frederique Spigt today. One of her songs is titled Rotterdam and its refrain

"Rotterdam gestolen schat
Rotterdam stad zonder hart
Rotterdam gestolen stad"

actually reflects the feeling I had while I was walking through the city. For those, whose Dutch is worse than mine:

"Rotterdam, the stolen treasure
Rotterdam, the city without heart
Rotterdam, the stolen city".

The video is quite poor, but the song is worth it.
